Detox Smoothie

Time to take your health into your own hands. No idea where to begin? No stress- simply show your body love and respect and everything else will fall into place. Incorporating a smoothie into your daily routine is an effective and realistic goal for 2015. To help you with this, we have a super easy detoxifying green smoothie recipe that will flush out the toxins, cleanse your system and nourish your body.

We like to make our smoothies as simple, nutritious and delicious as possible by using an MJF juice as the base. Our cold-pressed raw juices are tasty, satisfying and packed with the most amazing variety of micro-nutrients, enzymes, vitamins and minerals that nature has to offer. This smoothie is made with The Ditch, our detox drink that hydrates, alkalizes and cleanses your body.When you combine The Ditch with the purifying power of fiber-rich leafy greens, you are left with a smoothie that will leave you feeling replenished, rebalanced and ready to tackle all of your resolutions!

Detox Smoothie

  • 1 16oz. The Ditch (celery, green apple, pineapple, coconut water, lemon, burdock root, dandelion root)
  • 2 cups (1 large bunch) organic leafy greens (spinach, parsley, kale or Swiss chard)
  • 1 frozen organic banana or avocado
  • 1 small handful of ice
  • Chia seeds (optional), to garnish

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy right away to get the maximum benefits from the nutrients.

*** If your primary focus with green smoothies is cleansing, then it goes without saying that organic fruits and greens should be used for ingredients. You are being counterproductive if you are using fruits and vegetables that have been sprayed with pesticides, herbicides and fungicides!

Mix Raw: Winter Sunshine

This holiday season we are keeping it real and raw… especially when it comes to our cocktails.

Winter Sunshine is a flavorful and festive blend of pomegranate, blood orange and ginger. This seasonal special batch is citrus-y and sweet with a zesty kick. Delicious and refreshing- it is the perfect pair for your favorite vodka or gin.

Make your next holiday party extra merry and light with this cocktail recipe.


  • 4 ounces of MJF Winter Sunshine
  • 2 ounces of vodka or gin
  • 1 teaspoon of pomegranate seeds, to garnish
  • 1 lime, to garnish
  • 1 sprig of mint, to garnish
  • Ice

Pour the vodka or gin and MJF Winter Sunshine into a shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake vigorously then strain into a chilled glass

Garnish the cocktail with the pomegranate seeds, lime wedge and mint leaves and enjoy!

MIX RAW: Bonfire Cider


It’s time to break out the decorations, pump up the holiday jams and get into the holiday spirit(s)! We love cheers-ing to everything under the sun with friends, family and festive cocktails- but we’re not so in love with those sugary hangovers. Nobody’s got time for that. That’s why this year we will serving all our cocktails raw and mixing them up with cold pressed goodness.


The spiked Bonfire Cider is clean, cozy and is guaranteed to be the surefire hit of your next party. Made with fresh, local apples and carrots and spiced with cinnamon, ginger, turmeric and cayenne. Raw wildflower honey creates a smooth ending that complements any whiskey or bourbon nicely… and the best part: it is fun and easy to make! Give your guests a drink that’s extra memorable, special and healthy this season. Cheers to that!



  • 4 ounces of MJF Bonfire Cider
  • 2 ounces of bourbon or whiskey
  • Cinnamon, to garnish
  • Ice, to serve

Stir ingredients and pour over ice. Garnish with cinnamon and enjoy!



Kale and Bean NOURISH Soup


Our Green Mama nourishes and takes care of you just like a good mama should. During these cold months, it’s still important to get your daily intake of raw fruits and veggies, but sometimes your body just craves something hot and comforting. Well give your body what it needs. Take some of the nutritious, healing and delicious ingredients that go into the Green Mama and create a soup that will nourish and warm your body and soul.

Kale and Bean NOURISH Soup

1 cup cannellini beans
1 ½ cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp minced parsley
1 quart vegetable stock
1 tsp Himalayan sea salt
1 cups celery, diced
4 cups chopped kale
3 cups chopped swiss chard

Mix all the ingredients together and let it cook on high heat for 15-20 minutes.

It’s that time of year again and we intend on soaking up every last bit of holiday cheer. There will always be one extra thing on your to-do list or one more “mega sale” to shop; but we are here to say drop the expectations of a picture-perfect Martha Stewart holiday and just ride the wonderful wave December brings.





There is something magical about this time of year: the crispness in the air, the twinkling of the lights and the sprinkling of snow around us. Take time outside for fresh oxygen and fun winter adventures such as sledding, skiing, snowboarding and ice-skating. Go for a stroll with a loved one or take your furry friend out for a spontaneous winter wonderland excursion.



What’s a better way to relax and spend some well-deserved downtime then curled up with a mug of something warm and a few holiday favorites? Feel like a kid again with The Grinch or Home Alone. Throw it back, black and white style, with the classic films It’s a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street. Grab a cuddle buddy, some mistletoe and put on Love Actually or The Holiday.
