Ahh! Spring is in the air. Time for new beginnings. Deciding to do a juice cleanse is a great way to honor this period of rebirth. Our cleanses are designed to give your digestive system a much needed vacation, while nourishing you at a cellular level with nutrient-dense juices. Our raw juices are jam packed with enzymes, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and antioxidants – giving your body everything it needs and more.

 

You may be thinking a juice cleanse seems simple enough- you just drink juice for a few days. Well it’s a little more complex than that. If you’re going to do a juice cleanse, you want to do it right.
 
Here are some tips to help make sure you are getting the most out of your cleanse and to ensure it is a rejuvenating and empowering experience.

 
1. Prepare your body

The days leading up to your cleanse are just as important as the cleanse itself. You don’t want to shock your system. You will want to slowly start cutting out meats, refined starches (bread, white rice and pasta), dairy products, sugar, processed foods, alcohol and caffeine at least 3 days prior to your cleanse. 2. HYDRATE!

We can’t stress this enough. You may being thinking ‘stay hydrated? All I’m doing is drinking liquids’. Well, on top of your juices you should really be drinking at least 8 cups of water a day. We know that is a lot of liquids, but your body will thank you later. Start your day with a cup of warm lemon water and then drink at least one cup of water between each juice. The juices will do the detoxing and the nourishing and the water will help subside headaches and hunger.

 
3. Release the toxins

Cleansing pushes the toxins that are stored in your body into your bloodstream, so it is important that you activate the right organs to eliminate these toxins from your body. Try dry brushing and exfoliating before a warm shower, or better yet an epsom salt bath. Treat yourself to a spa day – sweat it out in the sauna or get a massage. Try a little gentle exercise such as yoga or a nature walk. These are all amazing and relaxing ways to open your pores, boost circulation, stimulate your lymphatic system and help your body release toxins.

 

4. Rest

We know its hard to get that ideal 8 hours of sleep a night, but think of all the time you’ve saved with not having to eat- not to mention cooking or cleaning up after a meal. Getting enough rest during a cleanse is extremely important. Allow your body to devote maximum energy resources towards detoxing and healing.

 
5. Listen to your body

At the end of the day you know your body best. Listen to it and be aware of the signals it is sending you. Feeling very low on energy? Take a nap, or get to bed extra early. Experiencing a nagging headache? Drink more water or try a facial steam. Can’t seem to silence the hunger pains? Have a cup of veggie broth or a few slices of cucumber or celery… we promise that’s not cheating.
 

6. External Detoxing

Use this time to clean your space and transform it into a sanctuary where you can cleanse with peace of mind. Open the windows – let some fresh air in; vacuum the floors, change the sheets, declutter and throw out anything that is no longer serving you.

 

7. Digital Detox

Try to incorporate a digital detox into at least one day of your cleanse. This will allow you to declutter your mind and keep it clear during this time of rejuvenation. Try leaving your phone behind for the day or at least few hours; turn off notifications; take a break from social media; dedicate a set time to answer anything pressing and then just put it aside.

 

8. Manifest

When you come off of a cleanse you feel like a brand new human. You have a new level of energy, a clearer mind and a renewed sense of balance. This is the perfect opportunity to take some time to set some new intentions for yourself and manifest your desires. Your body is the most important instrument you will ever own. The good news is you just got it fine tuned and it is ready to make the most beautiful music.
